Covid-19 is killing us.

This week's topic is about Covid-19 or in other words Coronavirus Disease. It is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with Covid-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover with special treatment. The virus that causes Covid-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors and surfaces. Can be infected by breathing in the virus if a person stands within proximity of someone who has Covid-19 or by touching a contaminated surface then your nose, eyes, and mouth. However, based on my opinions these are a few ways/strategy of combating Covid-19 in Malaysia:



These are one of the fear appeal posters that I've discovered that relate to the Covid-19 pandemic. First, what is an emotional appeal? it is advertising messages that usually based on imagery rather than information that attempt to achieve the advertiser's objectives by evoking strong emotional feelings like fear, anger, passion, etc rather than rational appeal or direct approach. This is a  PSA poster to create awareness about how dangerous it is if we do not wash our hands. The bacteria will simply walk all over your hands without noticing it. This poster create fear among the public. 

However, based on the poster. I can state my strategy and opinions about Covid-19 is that the public areas like malls, restaurants, and parks need to prepare a sanitizer for everyone. It is because some people do not have their own sanitizers to sanitize their hands. It will simply lead them to have Covid-19 symptoms because they do not know that sometimes the surfaces or people around them are contagious with corona disease. So to take precautions, the public areas need to prepare a sanitize and washing area for people to wash their hands regularly. 




Next, the second poster is fear appeal. This advertisement trying to indicate how bacteria can frighten you. By holding a surface in public transport, it will show how you can get contagious with bacteria or even the worst coronavirus. Some people might take this lightly because they think it is clean enough for them to touch it. Little did they know, that if the surface is not fully sanitized or even clean properly it will slowly lead them to any kind of disease. Therefore, why is it emotional appeal because the ads trying to give a message through an image without direct information given in the poster. 

Therefore, another strategy to combat Covid-19 is that public transports or areas need to be sanitized and fully clean. The management needs to practice the new normal and take it as a habit to clean all the contaminated surfaces. These will help to reduce the cases and also avoid us from any bacteria and even Corona Virus. Imagine, if you simply touch a surface without knowing what is going on. How scary is that? so, ladies & gentlemen please take good care of yourself and be hygienic. If you just came back from somewhere, go wash up yourself and even better separate your clothes and essentials with other clothes. Tie it with a plastic bag and wash it separately. 

Furthermore, there is also another strategy that can relate to this poster. Which means people need to practice social distancing. Whenever you want to greet a person or trying to make a contact with others, please try to distance yourself 1meter apart. This is because you might not know if the person is a Covid-19 carrier. Even worst, they are actually affected but they are not knowing it. So it is best for us to distance ourselves from others. Also, in public transports, they need to make a sign or even a barrier to show a distance from one and another. Try to make it a flexible hour, where people can ride public transport according to the schedule given. It somehow depends on us, if the management made the rules and people are still stubborn then the cases of Covid-19 will increase. Hence, the future is on your hand. What you do today can give an impact tomorrow.

This is an advertisement made by KFC which emphasis that everyone in any kind of food industry field needs to combat together with Covid-19. Even there are still pandemic going on in Malaysia, they will make sure to give the best service to our society. They even work really hard to make sure that no one is left behind. And the fact that they are willing to take a risk to make sure we will get what we needed. Next, the ads also create an awareness that the disease won't stop them to give a full service to everyone. I love this ad because it shows unity and how they are willing to sacrifice for us. Even, it will cause their lives more they value their customer more than anything. 



The second brand ads are MCD which shows that no one is left behind. We are facing the challenge of Covid-19 together.  They even wear safety gear to ensure that others will not get contagious  Bear in mind that, they work for hours just to give the best for everyone especially our front liners. Even, they risk they live more than us but the dedication to contribute to the world is overwhelming. Therefore, we need to appreciate them because some of them did not have time to rest and even time to eat because priority first. To the front liners; you guys are our unsung heroes. We don't know how to thank our front liners but staying at home is one the best tool for us. Thank you #KitaJagaKita
